Richard Henry Streeter Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Mr. Streeter has established himself as a reputable member of his field through his expertise in transportation law and accomplishments as an attorney. After serving as a briefing attorney for the Presiding Judge of the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals in Austin, Texas, Mr. Streeter began his career as a trial attorney with the Office of General Counsel at the Interstate Commerce Commission in Washington from 1971 to 1975. He was a partner with Barnes and Thornburg LLC in Washington D.C. from 1987 to 2010, and served as the managing partner of the firm's D.C. office from 2001 to 2008. He previously was a partner with the firm of Wheeler and Wheeler from 1978 to 1987 and an associate from 1975 to 1978. Since 2011, he has been a partner in the Law Office of Richard H. Streeter, his own practice.

One of Mr. Streeter's proudest achievements was in taking on a pro bono case for the widow of the Commander of the USS Pueblo, as well as three crew members. In 1968 the ship was attacked and captured by North Korean Forces and its crew members were held captive and brutally tortured for the next 11 months. Forty years later, Mr. Streeter brought the case to trial on behalf of the widow and crew members, and obtained $65.8 million in a judgement against North Korea.

Mr. Streeter graduated from the University of Texas with a Doctorate in Law in 1970, a Master of Arts in 1969, and a Bachelor of Arts in 1965. He was admitted to practice in Texas in 1970, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio and the District of Maryland in 1972, and the U.S. District Court for the Western and Northern Districts of Texas in 1972 and 1973. Furthermore, he was admitted to practice in the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court in 1974, the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals in 1975, the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals in 1976, the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals in 1988, the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals in 1995, and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in 1996. He was also admitted to practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims in 1986, the Supreme Court of Texas, and the U.S. Court of International Trade.

Mr. Streeter served his community as vice chairman and member of the Washington D.C. Rental Accommodations Commission. He is also an active member of multiple social organizations, including the Chevy Chase Club, the Hillsboro Club, the Georgetown Assembly, and the Metropolitan Club of the City of Washington. He served as a member of the Board of Governors of the Metropolitan Club and as a member of the Metropolitan Club Preservation Foundation. For his accomplishments and expertise in his industry, Mr. Streeter has been featured in numerous editions of Who's Who in America and Who's Who in American Law. He was selected for the listing of Super Lawyers among transportation and maritime attorneys in Washington DC from 2012 to 2015.

He has been married to Lucille Clayton Anderson since 1971. They have one son, Thomas Clayton Anderson Streeter.
