LOS ANGELES, CA, December 26, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- This economy has produced incredible hardships for many people who have never been in a truly financially difficult situation until now. Latroy (Poplarville, Mississippi) was one of these taxpayers who had fallen on hard times and was reaching the end of his rope when he entered the offices of Blue Tax.
Latroy had a balance of roughly $12,000 for the years of 2002 through 2010. Latroy had not filed taxes for a few of those years. He was in the last stages of the collection process and was about to face an aggressive collection attempt by the IRS. Blue Tax's challenge was to establish a safe zone for Latroy to become compliant and then determine a permanent resolution for him. The Blue Tax experts set a goal of filing the missing 2003 tax return and also making the argument to the IRS that Mr. Smith qualifies for a hardship program.
Blue Tax was able to make contact with the IRS and determine that the missing 2003 tax return did not need to be filed. The IRS had decided not to pursue that return, due to the lack of Latroy's income. With this new knowledge, Blue Tax quickly went to work on analyzing Latroy's account so that they could determine if he qualified for a hardship program. Once the financial analysis was completed, Blue Tax was confident that there would be no problem establishing a Currently Non-Collectable status for Latroy. A few IRS calls later, Latroy was approved for the CNC status.
In the end, Blue Tax was successful in placing a hold on Latroy's account and placing him on a Currently Non-Collectable status, much to Latroy's relief. Latroy can now ring in the new year with relief!
