-- Robert D. Reeser, Ph.D., Retired Associate Dean to the College of Arts and Letters for the California State University, Los Angeles, has been recognized by Worldwide Branding for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in art education.
An educator for more than 40 years, Dr. Reeser started in the field by teaching in middle school and high school art education. In 1971, he became a member of the California State University, Los Angeles faculty, where he served as an associate dean. Now retired, he attributes his successful career to his hard work, education and passion for arts.
After earning a Bachelor of Science in Education from Northern Illinois University, Dr. Reeser went on to earn a master's degree in ceramic arts at the University of Denver in 1959 and a Doctorate in Art Education from The Ohio State University in 1973. In his role as an Associate Dean to the College of Arts and Letters, Dr. Reeser used his expertise in art education to develop curriculum. He names the highlight of his education career to be the relationships he has developed with students and colleagues. It has allowed him to make a difference directly with the people with whom he has been in contact.
Dr. Reeser has been recognized for his many years of involvement with the California Art Education Association including service as president. He is currently volunteering to teach English as a second language and he is a board member of the Central Coast Literacy Council. As the years progress, he hopes to do watercolor paintings.
