Robert J. Schappert III Recognized by Worldwide Branding for Excellence in Emergency Response Programming

    PASADENA, MD, July 23, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Robert J. Schappert III, Director of Emergency Response and Continuity Programs, Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), at USDA, has been recognized by Worldwide Branding for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in emergency response development.

With 45 years of experience in his field, Mr. Schappert is known for his expertise in crisis management, training, exercise planning, design, development, and facilitation at the senior leadership and subordinate levels. Daily, he is tasked with supervising five reports, managing programmatic safety and occupational health initiatives for 50 states and three territories, handling security issues (including workplace violence training), and ensuring the safety of 12,500 people.

Recently inducted into Worldwide Branding, Mr. Schappert attributes his success to the mentoring and team building process. He became involved in his profession after starting out as a Maryland State Trooper, flying on medevac helicopters. At the same time, he was involved on the ground floor with developing the statewide EMS system in the pre-hospital phase.

Well equipped to thrive in his field, Mr. Schappert is the holder of a bachelor's degree in business in public administration with a minor in transportation. He maintains memberships in the American Heart Association, NFPA, Odenton Volunteer Fire Company, and is the former president of the Delta Nu Alpha (DNA) Professional Business Fraternity, a post that he held while at the University of Maryland at College Park. Additionally, he is a field consultant for Tempest Controlled Airstreams specializing in positive pressure ventilation tactical applications for structural and shipboard firefighting incidents.

Recognized for his excellence, Mr. Schappert received numerous leadership and outstanding achievement awards from the Transportation Security Administration. Furthermore, he received the Fire Service Award for Excellence, the bronze award from the American Heart Association, heroism awards from the State of Maryland, the Bronze Award for Leadership and Excellence from the Department of Commerce, and Fire Service Training Awards from the Odenton Volunteer Fire Company.
