Robert J. Tozzi Recognized as a Top Doctor by Worldwide Registry

    NEW YORK, NY, December 05, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Pediatric Cardiologist Robert J. Tozzi has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in medicine with a profile in the Worldwide Registry, an affiliate of the American Registry organization.

With more than 26 years of experience in the care of heart disease, Dr. Tozzi treats patients and advocates for better early screening of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), an often mis- or undiagnosed genetic heart disorder. Dr. Tozzi has been particularly strong in his advocacy of HCM screening for school children who engage in serious competitive athletics.

He has been instrumental in obtaining more than $1.75 million in grants for the perfection of biomedical technology applications.

Licensed to practice in New Jersey, Dr. Tozzi has served as the medical founding director of the Gregory M. Hirsch Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Center at Hackensack University Medical Center, as well as the former director of the Sports Readiness Program at the Pediatric Center for Heart Disease, and former co-director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Hackensack University Medical Center.

Dr. Tozzi received an MD from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and completed a fellowship at New York University in 1983. Dr. Tozzi also maintains affiliation with the Bergen County Medical Society, American Academy of Pediatrics, Society of Critical Care Medicine, Pediatric Oncology Group and American Medical Association. He has been recognized as a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly for nearly 20 consecutive years, including in the 2014 edition of rankings.
