/24-7PressRelease/ - HARRISBURG, PA, October 02, 2007 - Robert Will, Chief Operating Officer of the Dr. Gertrude a Barber National Institute, was recognized by the Pennsylvania Association of Resources for Autism and Intellectual Disabilities (PAR) for his distinguished service to the association and to people with disabilities. The award ceremony took place as part of PAR's 37th Annual Meeting at the Holiday Inn, Grantville, PA.
"Mr. Will has been instrumental at every critical point in the development of a strong and effective system of care and support for people with intellectual disabilities (mental retardation) and people with autism, and their families," remarked Shirley Walker, President and CEO of PAR.
"Bob has dedicated an enormous amount of time and brain power on behalf of PAR and providers and families to ensure that the fiscal management of Pennsylvania's MR system is headed in the right direction," noted David Wyher, an Officer of the PAR Board of Directors.
Mr. Will holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh; A Master of Education in Counseling from Edinboro University; along with post-graduate studies in management, finance and psychology. He began his career at the Barber Institute as a direct supervisor of consumers in the Adult Services Division. He also served as project supervisor for the Regional Behavior Shaping Unit for all of Western Pennsylvania, then as Director of the Residential Services and Adult Day Services Divisions, next as the Deputy Administrator with overall responsibility for finance, general administration and facilities and now, as COO.
