Houser, DO, of Columbus (Westerville) was recently elected to membership in the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) at the organization's 41st Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. ASAPS is the only national plastic surgery organization devoted entirely to the advancement of cosmetic surgery. Its members are American Board of Plastic Surgery certified surgeons who specialize in cosmetic surgery of the face and body.
"I am honored to have been accepted into the membership of this prestigious organization," says Dr. Houser. "Membership in ASAPS reflects my training and experience in cosmetic plastic surgery, as well as my commitment to life-long education in this rapidly expanding field."
ASAPS membership is an exclusive privilege. To become an ASAPS member, plastic surgeons must meet rigorous requirements including specialized training, certification and accredited Continuing Medical Education in cosmetic plastic surgery. In addition, applicants are screened to ensure that their professional ethics meet the high standards required by the Society. Only about one-third of all American Board of Plastic Surgery certified surgeons have been elected to ASAPS membership. Physicians who have been trained in specialties other than plastic surgery are not eligible for membership in ASAPS.
