Previously, Mr. Coleman was a partner of Brown McCarroll LLP from 2000 to 2009, partner of Vial, Hamilton, Koch & Knox LLP from 1992 to 2000, director of Baker, Glast and Middleton, P.C. from 1985 to 1992, and partner of Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue from 1981 to 1985. Mr. Coleman began his career by serving as a law clerk to the presiding judge of the Fifth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals from 1968 to 1969.
To prepare for his illustrious career, Mr. Coleman first earned a Bachelor of Arts from Abilene Christian University in 1964. Subsequently, he obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence with honors from the University of Texas in 1968. Since that accomplishment, he was admitted to practice law in Texas and Georgia in 1968 and 1970, respectively. Furthermore, he has been admitted to the bars of the Eastern, Northern, and Western District Courts of Texas, the Fifth Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Tax Court.
In an effort to remain alert of changes within his field of expertise, Mr. Coleman is affiliated with several organizations, including the American Bar Association, the Dallas Bar Foundation, the Dallas Bar Association, the Texas Bar Association, and the Georgia Bar Association. Additionally, he was a member of the executive committee of the Dallas County Democratic Committee from 1980 to 1987.
In recognition of his exceptional accomplishments in the field of law, Mr. Coleman has been highlighted in numerous editions of Marquis Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
