Rock'n Music Idol is a state-wide search for New Jersey's most impressive up-and coming musicians ages 7-17 in the categories of guitar, bass, drums, keyboard/piano, vocals, and vocals/instrument. The competition was established in 2007 by professional recording artist Howard Lee Edwards Jr. and is administered by Rock'n Music Academy, located in Middletown. After two seasons Rock'n Music Idol has attracted over 1,000 contestants and has established itself as New Jersey's premiere music talent search.
Past Winners of Rock'n Music Idol have gone on to perform at some of the most prestigious venues in New Jersey, including The Stone Pony and The Count Basie Theater, and have been featured on Q104.3, WGHT, and on national television (ABC).
Rock'n Music Idol 2010 is shaping up to be the best season yet. In addition to winners being selected in each of the instrumental categories, there will be one overall winner selected by the judges. The overall winner will receive the grand prize package (professional recording studio time and a professional photoshoot with famed photographer Mark Weiss) plus a $500 cash prize!!
