Rodenhiser Announces Furnaceaurus Winner

Oldest Furnace in the Area is Located

HOLLISTON, MA, April 21, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rodenhiser Plumbing, Heating, A/C & Electric has officially announced the winner of their "Furnacesaurus" competition. Congratulations to Kayle from Milford for boasting the oldest furnace this year.

The competition, which ran from January 1st to March 31st, gave local homeowners the opportunity to win a brand new furnace if theirs was the oldest one entered into the running. Over 210 outdated and inefficient furnaces were inspected by the professionals at Rodenhiser over the course of the competition.

Homeowners from all across MetroWest entered their ancient heating systems in hopes of winning a new furnace. The winner of the 2016 Furnaceaurus competition, Kayle hailed from Milford. Their furnace was 57 years old. They will be receiving a free, brand new, energy efficient American standard furnace. This furnace has a 97% efficiency guarantee and will use 1/7th of the electrical energy that the previous furnace used. This will cut Kayle's energy bills in half. A programmable wifi enabled thermostat will also be installed.

The annual Furnaceaurus competition is not only a fun way to win a new furnace, but also helps the customer gauge when their furnace may need to be replaced. All contest entries are examined by a member of the Rodenhiser team. All eligible entries (functioning furnaces that are at least 10 years old) receive a certificate for up to $500 off of a new furnace, as well as a free "excavation" by Rodenhiser's certified "paleontologists" to ensure their current furnace is in good condition.

When evaluating these "ancient" systems it's important to note that the latest in heating technology is far more efficient than even the best systems from ten years ago. Compared to the systems from forty, fifty, and almost sixty years ago, modern Energy Star rated units can contribute to significant reductions in energy consumption, and thus in electricity and gas costs. All contestants have the opportunity to save by upgrading their mammoth of a heating system, and as for Kayle of Milford her massive energy bills are now extinct.
