/24-7PressRelease/ -- The Cincinnati Rotary Club will host a speaking event featuring Roto-Rooter president and chief operating officer Rick Arquilla. The club is expecting 150 guests to attend the event on Thursday, June 24th. The program begins at noon at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza Hall of Mirrors.
Undercover Boss gave the Roto-Rooter COO a greater appreciation of his employees and a fresh perspective on leadership style. "The work is much harder when you're actually getting into the trenches instead of watching someone do it," Arquilla said. "Our employees are amazing, dedicated people and Undercover Boss was an incredible experience for me, both personally and professionally. It made a positive impact on Roto-Rooter, and we make certain that programs and policies are workable on the frontline and not just talk in a boardroom. It has helped to make us a better company and further our leadership in the industry."
Arquilla worked several days amongst his employees under the alias of Hank Denman. He visited offices and Roto-Rooter customers in Des Moines, New Orleans and Chicago. Arquilla will share details from his challenging and emotional adventure, including lessons he learned about himself, the company he leads, and the men and women who make Roto-Rooter successful.
Arquilla will also sign copies of Roto-Rooter's successful bathroom reader book, Chilling Tales from the Porcelain Seat. Stemming from encounters Roto-Rooter plumbers face daily, which Arquilla himself took on, the book features strange but true tales of plumbing horrors and hilarity.
"The insights Rick was exposed to undercover at Roto-Rooter provide a valuable lens to employee and management relations. We are very much excited about this extraordinary opportunity to hear Rick speak," said Diane Brasie, executive director of the Cincinnati Rotary Club.
