/24-7PressRelease/ - September 17, 2005 - SAN DIEGO, CA -- Nicole Yost laughed out loud when she stumbled upon an online review of her left-of-center line of rubber stamps. "It just said, 'Thumbs up. No cutesy teddy bear junk here.' I thought that was great. I love it when people get what I'm doing." Yost's art rubber stamps feature skulls and crossbones, pinup girls, retro tattoo designs and other hip images that can be used for clothing design, scrapbooking, card making, and other crafts.

"My designs are a little out there for some folks," says Yost, an avid rubber stamp artist with a passion for tattoo art and pop culture. "At first I thought my customers would primarily be rubber stampers, but about half of the folks who buy my stamps don't fall into that category at all. A lot of people just like the designs. They use them to make their own t-shirts and cuff bracelets, make edgy scrapbook pages, or just to add a little personal zing to personal notes and letters."

"Some people even use them for making temporary tattoos," says Yost. "I sold a bunch to a biker in Arkansas who just wanted to try out different tattoo ideas before getting inked."

The inspiration for the retro-cool stamps came to Yost during a late-night crafting session. "I was making a stack of hand-stamped cards and I just thought, 'Why doesn't anyone make any cool rubber stamps?' I knew exactly what I wanted, but no one was selling anything like that." Eventually, Yost drew up the designs herself and Asta Arts was born. "Now I have a great stamp collection and a business I love," says Yost.
