/24-7PressRelease/ -- Ruff Magic Entertainment's David Richard Thompson and Victor Bevine have announced a new Audio- Book Soap Opera series entitled "Savannah Hollywood" in development and set for production in January of 2009. They are in negotiations with a major New York based Audio book company to have "Savannah Hollywood" be part of its new catalogue of original Audio-Book Soap Operas. Written by David Richard Thompson, "Savannah Hollywood" is about cousins Julia and Jonathan Savannah, two potential heirs to the prestigious family advertising agency, "Savannah Industries." Julia Savannah, in a bid to stake her claim on the family business, moves from the east coast to Hollywood, California, in an attempt to take over Savannah Industries West, which is successfully run by her cousin Jonathan Savannah. Carrying on the tradition of their two fathers, who were the original "warring Savannahs", Julia will stop at nothing to make sure that she gains control of both the east coast and Hollywood divisions of Savannah Industries. And of course, Julia uses her feminine wiles to help her get whatever she wants, leaving a trail of men behind her.
First to be cast in this series is Katherine D'Armond as "Julia Savannah". D'Armond and Thompson met many years ago and performed as part of the Los Angeles based sketch comedy group "Unprotected Six" for three years. "Katherine brings something special to every role, she was always the perfect and most hilarious 'straight man" when we worked together in 'Unprotected Six' " says Thompson. "She is one of the most naturally gifted actresses I have met and will bring the qualities of outlandishness, sexiness, ruthlessness, and quiet desperation that the character of Julia Savannah needs."
Victor Bevine and David Richard Thompson formed Ruff Magic Entertainment in 2007, as a natural progression of their careers in television and film, both in front of and behind the camera. . Bevine has had an illustrious television career as an actor and his script "Certainty" has won several screenwriting honors and is currently in development as a major motion picture, which he is set to direct. Thompson has a very diverse professional background having worked with world class fashion and celebrity photographers such as Herb Ritts and Mario Testino, as well as having a varied music and acting career (he played "Roz's" boyfriend "Leon" on the popular sitcom "Frasier".) He was also the VP of T.V. and film development/acquisitions for Willis International, and for the past seven years has served as an independent T.V. development consultant. Ruff Magic Entertainment was formed, by Thompson and Bevine, to support their desire to create their own brand of sports television, reality television, scripted television and film, documentary film, and music. They have partnered before to create the documentary film "Starfish" which won as Best Documentary in the Elevate Films International Film Festival in Los Angeles in 2005. They have also served as mentors and consultants with numerous non-profits helping "at risk" youth through filmmaking and writing. Besides their 2009 multi-media sports project, they have several other television projects in development which they expect to bring about in the next year.
