/24-7PressRelease/ - LONDON, UK, July 27, 2007 - The primary premise of the Luxury Ethical Council will be a collective body of luxury ethical designers and brand owners who have existing in-house programs partnering with high quality craftsmanship in less developed economies to compete in the luxury world stage. The principle behind the Luxury Ethical Council was born out of an on-going program which was set-up by Rumah's founder Andreas Lim, 'Cashmere with a conscience'; to support high quality craftsmanship in less developed markets on an ethical platform.
When Rumah launched its 'Cashmere with a conscience' program, it became very apparent there were like minded designers and brand owners who had similar principles and programs to support quality craftsmanship in less developed economies with an ethical platform. Andreas Lim, added, 'I was overwhelmed by the amount of support I was getting from 'Cashmere with a conscience' from consumers and designers. Many designers and brand owners were coming forward and stating they were running similar programs under different names'.
The Luxury Ethical Council will be a unifying body representing designers and brand owners with like-minded ethical programs running alongside their business practices. In short, the whole process from design, craftsmanship and quality end product for the luxury consumer is a symbiotic relationship which has to be nurtured to ensure the fairness doctrine is ethically maintained across the board.
Rumah has started the first step to develop the Luxury Ethical Council. We welcome other luxury ethical designers and brand owners who believe in the overall principle for the Luxury Ethical Council to come forward.
