Ruth Piech has an unprecedented 52 years of professional experience in the healthcare field. As a registered nurse and case manager, she specializes in caring for patients, practicing internal medicine and teaching cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedures. Additionally, she acts as a liaison between doctors and patients, mentors fellow healthcare professionals and assists with general health checks on infants. She notes that she became involved in her profession due to the inspiration she received from a nurse who treated her following an appendectomy at 13 years of age.

Ms. Piech attributes her success to her listening and people management skills and to the support she receives from the people around her. She received her Registered Nurse degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1956 and is certified in Case Management Nursing. She is a member of the American Nurses Association and the Case Management Society of America.
