S. Kay Rockwell, PhD, Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    LINCOLN, NE, January 16, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present S. Kay Rockwell, PhD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Rockwell celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. A respected voice in the field of education, Dr. Rockwell served as a professor and evaluation specialist in the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communications (ALEC) with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) prior to her retirement in 2003. She is a widely-regarded contributor of articles to professional journals regarding extension education, as well as the former research-in-brief editor of the Journal of Extension. Although Dr. Rockwell has retired, she now teaches in non-formal educational environments, and serves as a volunteer in the Farmer-to-Farmer program at the U.S. Department of Agriculture to improve production practices of subsistence farmers in East Africa, and to improve the health and wellbeing of those affected by HIV.

Prior to pursuing a career in education, Dr. Rockwell graduated from Lincoln General Hospital School of Nursing in 1960. She subsequently attended UNL, completing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1962, Master of Arts in Adult and Continuing Education in 1975, and PhD in Community and Human Resources in 1984. She retired from nursing in 1968 after serving as a registered nurse in the state of Nebraska, and previously as an instructor and acting assistant director for nursing education at Lincoln General Hospital.

Throughout the course of her vocation, Dr. Rockwell has been continually recognized for her contributions to the field of education and has been featured in the fourth edition of Who's Who in American Education, published in 1993. She has been recognized with awards of excellence in extension evaluation and training in 1992 and 1996, the Open World Leadership program in 2005, and the Friendship Force International Humanitarian Award in 2016.
