Sainsbury's Travel Insurance Will Consider Claims For Cancelled Holidays To Mexico

Sainsbury's Travel Insurance offers comprehensive cover at competitive premiums, Sainsbury's robust Travel Insurance online and telephone based medical screening process ensures travellers are charged competitive premiums

LONDON, ENGLAND, May 02, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In the wake of the swine flu outbreak in Mexico, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) is advising against all but essential travel to the country. Sainsbury's Travel Insurance confirms that it will consider all claims for cancelled holidays to the country, scheduled to depart on or after 28 April 2009.

Sam Marrs, Sainsbury's Travel Insurance Manager, said: "In the first instance, holidaymakers should contact their travel agent, as early indications are that most travel agents are agreeing to cancellations and refunds or the rebooking of different destinations. But if they aren't entitled to a refund, Sainsbury's Travel Insurance will consider all cancellation claims on a case by case basis, not all insurers are the same however so it's important travellers check with their provider."

At present, cancellations will only be considered on holidays with a departure date up to and including 6th May 2009. This will be reviewed on a weekly basis in line FCO advice.
