ABU DHABI, UAE, August 06, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The current economic climate has led to more caution amongst employers within the UAE when making recruitment decisions and the vast majority of organisations are viewing expansion plans, departmental changes and role replacements more strategically than ever before.

Evidence of organisations changing their lending strategy, products and services and market flexibility to be inline with what they describe as a "safe hold" for the coming months has also become apparent. This forms of protection is designed to ensure that organisations act within the best interests of their investors, board members and employees.

Despite the obvious challenges, the Middle East still remains a sought after location to work. This is in part due to a growing demand to secure a position within the Gulf Cooperation Council (of which the UAE is part). The influx has particularly emerged from Europe and Asia Pac, where sectors have been more dramatically affected by the economic slow down.

Within the UAE, despite redundancies for some organisations as they re-evaluate their interim requirements and restructure staffing levels, niche sectors such as, Property & Construction, Energy, IT & Technology, Utilities, Infrastructure and Healthcare & Medical retain demand for talent at this point in time. Elements of these sectors remain relatively stable due to the growth in demand for the Emirates to support the 2030 plan: a comprehensive programme for the development of the city of Abu Dhabi that will guide planning decisions for the next 21 years.

Salaries at senior manager level and above have risen the most. These positions are regarded as business-critical, especially in the more competitive sectors such as IT, Infrastructure, Energy, and areas of Construction and Financial Services.

A copy of the research findings regarding UAE jobs can be found on the company's new website, which has been created specifically to help organisations in the Qatar quickly and easily find the best local talent, and also to help jobseekers search and apply for a wide range of career opportunities.

Maria Brown, Reed Specialist Recruitment Associate Director in the UAE, says: "The research findings provide a valuable insight for employers, employees and jobseekers, and is an excellent addition to our new website which forms part of reedglobal.com which spans our operations across 12 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific."
