(www.salugen.com) received a letter from the California Department of Public Health Field Services Division inquiring about our standards and policies with certain clinical laboratory testing laws. On Monday, Salugen responded to this letter and provided the state with a detailed explanation of its services and how its standards are consistent with state law.
Salugen appreciates the courteous inquiry by the state about our business operations and have honored their request to clarify its standards and policies. It should be clear to the Laboratory Field Services division now that Salugen has always performed its laboratory testing in the established independent CLIA-certified laboratory of its partner and we welcome further discussions with the Department regarding the appropriate regulation of this unique industry. We respect the Department's request and believe that our interests are mutually shared in promoting the health and safety of the citizens of California. As pioneers in personalized nutrition, we are well aware of the challenges regulators face in ensuring that they are doing their job of protecting the public.
