KINGSPORT, TN, November 10, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sarah E. Guffey, Akard Elementary School Teacher for the Sullivan County Department of Education, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in elementary education.

An elementary school educator, Ms. Guffey has developed her teaching skills at the Sullivan County Department of Education over the past two years. Her professional passion is for working with children and creating an environment, where students are apt to embrace learning. In her position, her responsibilities include instructing kindergarteners in reading, language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. She also works with the school district to ensure the high quality education of all students.

In 2009, Ms. Guffey received a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies with a concentration in language arts and social studies, from King College. While pursuing her bachelor's degree she was honored with a Student Teacher of the Year award. She is affiliated with The Salvation Army and Goodwill Industries International. In order to enable her advancement within her field, Ms. Guffey hopes to complete a master's degree in education and write a children's book.
