Sarah H. Case Recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Arts Administration

Sarah H. Case Believes the Arts Can Serve As an Agent for Positive Social Change

Norwell, Massachusetts, March 15, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sarah H. Case, Executive Director of Dancing Classrooms, Washington, DC, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in arts administration.

Ms. Case has twelve years of experience in arts education and arts management. She has worked with Dancing Classrooms, an organization that builds social awareness, confidence and self-esteem in children through the practice of social dance. Through standards-based, in-school residencies, the medium of ballroom dance cultivates positive feelings and success within every child.

She also served as Director of Marketing and Development of the New London Barn Playhouse, where she facilitated the marketing and public relations work for the theater, and managed the board to facilitate fundraisers, drives and proactive event planning. Throughout her work, she has focused on underexposed and under served populations. She is instrumental in the building and managing of arts education outreach programs as vehicles for positive social change.

Ms. Case attributes her success to her parents and the teachers she has had in her life. She is driven to provide access to high quality arts education programming and experiences for all, regardless of a student's ability, age, or socio-economic background. She believes that access to the arts is a social justice issue and a fundamental human right of all people.

She started out in her career as a professional ballet dancer and musical theater performer, before she moved on to professional choreography work and dance education. She then pursued arts management, inspired to build and strengthen arts outreach programming.

Ms. Case completed a fellowship in 2012 at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington, DC. She received a master's degree in arts education in 2011 from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a bachelor's degree in art history, Cum Laude with Distinction, in 2001 from Columbia University. She has been a board member of the Columbia College Young Alumni and a member of the Harvard Graduate School of Education Young Alumni. She was the recipient of the Senior Spotlight Award for Recognition of Leadership in the Arts from Columbia University.
