Sarah Stark Oldham Recognized for Commitment to Family Law



    WESTPORT, CT, March 13, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sarah (Sally) Stark Oldham has been included in Marquis Who' Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. With more than 30 years of experience in the legal industry, Ms. Oldham has been a partner with Arnold Rutkin since 1994 (Rutkin, Oldham & Griffin since 2011). She practices solely in family law, focusing on helping clients address the financial consequences and the psychological impact of the divorce process on the family. Prior to becoming an attorney, she worked as a school psychologist in private practice and in public schools.

Ms. Oldham began her career as a student at Wesleyan University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science cum laude in Psychology in 1972. She went on to Southern Connecticut State College, completing a Master of Science in Psychology in 1974. In 1975 she received her 6th Year Degree from the School of Psychology at Southern Connecticut State College. After working in education for 10 years and seeing the impact of divorce on families, Ms. Oldham returned to her studies, earning a J.D. cum laude from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1988. She is admitted to practice in the State of Connecticut. She is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, Family Law Section, the Fairfield County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. She is recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the Connecticut Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and the International Academy of Family Lawyers.

A respected voice in the field of family law, Ms. Oldham lectures regularly on a wide variety of topics at legal seminars, and she has written numerous articles in her areas of practice. Alongside attorneys Arnold Rutkin and Kathleen Hogan, she co-authored the three-volume Connecticut Family Law and Practice Series, which is published by West Publishing and which remains a key legal reference for both attorneys and judges in Connecticut. In addition, she has written several informative articles for The Family Advocate and The Connecticut Family Lawyer, as well as the newsletter for the Family Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association. Her topics included "Alimony Recapture and Family Support", "Substance Abuse Issues in Family Law Cases", "The DSM-5 and Its Practical Application to the Family Lawyer" and "When Domestic Issues Result in Criminal Cases".

Throughout her career, Ms. Oldham has been recognized for her contributions. She has been named among the Best Lawyers in America since 2006 and has been listed among Connecticut's Top 25 Female Lawyers. She is recognized as an AV-Preeminent Attorney by Martindale-Hubbell. However, Ms. Oldham takes the most pride in counseling people and helping them navigate through a difficult time in their lives.
