School Supply Sponsorship Program to Benefit Louisiana Students Following Historic Flooding

    HOUSTON, TX, September 03, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In response to the historic flooding in Louisiana, Educational Products, Inc. (EPI), the leader in prepackaged school supply programs, has initiated the Louisiana Flood Relief School Supply Sponsorship Program as part of a national effort to provide relief for the victims of flooding.

The flooding in Louisiana this August is the worst natural disaster since Hurricane Katrina in 2012. It has delayed the start of the 2016-2017 school year in many areas and left many students without the proper materials needed in the classroom.

EPI is asking individuals to sponsor a school pack for $15 through Sept. 23 by visiting http://www.educationalproducts.com/donate and entering EPI331 for the organization ID. The packs include the basic tools students need for academic success.

For every 5 packs purchased online, EPI will donate one pack to the relief effort.

"With up to a quarter-million students impacted by the flooding in Louisiana, EPI wanted to give families one less thing to worry about during this stressful time," said Ron Phelan, CEO of EPI. "Seeing so many schools and homes under water motivated us to initiate this program. Not only did we want to lend a hand but, provide an opportunity for others to offer their support."

Each pack includes 28 items such as paper, pens, colored pencils, crayons, glue sticks, composition books and more. The EPI packs cost 50% less compared to the standard retail price at a national retailer. EPI leverages its buying power to reduce costs, plus delivers the supplies in convenient shrink wrapped packaging for easier distribution.

EPI is partnering with the Louisiana Association of United Ways that will be responsible for distributing the packs to schools and families in Louisiana.

This program is an extension of the School Supply Outreach Program from EPI that works with corporations, nonprofits and churches to provide supplies for students in their communities.
