Scio Consulting Joins Microsoft BizSpark Program to Enable SaaS Startups

    SAN JOSE, CA, July 1, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Scio Consulting today announced that it has been selected to join the Microsoft BizSpark Program as a Network Partner. This is a new global program designed to accelerate the success of early stage Startups by connecting them to Network Partners. BizSpark Startups can now leverage Scio's experience designing and building .NET based, fully commercialized multi-tenant Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings.

The BizSpark Program is a new global program designed to accelerate the success of early stage Startups by connecting them to Network Partners: active members of the global software ecosystem who can provide mentorship, guidance and resources to BizSpark Startups. BizSpark creates an ongoing, mutually beneficial ecosystem between Microsoft, Startups and Network Partners.

"Through this strategic relationship with the BizSpark Program we will be able to provide added value and significant savings to our early-stage software customers."

Scio Consulting has a series of service offerings targeted to the needs of early-stage Web and software companies, going from strategic product visioning and definition, to cost-effective development and operations solutions. By partnering with Scio Consulting, startups seeking to build and deploy SaaS and Web 2.0 applications can leverage Scio's expertise and Agile Nearshore Delivery Center. "We have worked with numerous entrepreneurs and start-ups that are looking to bring new Web products to market. One of the recurring challenges they encounter is not having affordable access to the development tools and financing they need," said Luis Aburto, CEO of Scio. "Now at Scio we will be able to sponsor these companies to the BizSpark program, providing them with a much needed boost and moving them one step closer to success."

Scio Consulting is also partnered with Apprenda, another BizSpark Network Partner, to deliver fully commercialized, multi-tenant SaaS applications using SaaSGrid, a SaaS Application Server designed specifically for rapidly building and deploying .NET-based Software-as-a-Service applications.

The BizSpark Program provides Startups with software, support and visibility at a time when they are most valuable and least affordable-during their first three years, with no upfront costs and minimal requirements.

To be eligible for the Microsoft BizSpark Program, Startups must be actively engaged in development of a software-based product or service that is a core piece of their business model, have been in business less than three years, and have less than USD$1M in revenue. Startups may enroll for the program by obtaining sponsorship from a BizSpark Network partner like Scio Consulting.
