SAN DIEGO, CA, February 03, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- San Diego University for Integrative Studies (SDUIS) is offering help to United States military veterans. They can take advantage of the Free Career Transition Counseling programs that SDUIS is making available. It is a way for these men and women who have worn the uniform of the armed services to transition back into civilian life. The SDUIS program provides vital second career planning that can make a difference when the veteran is back on the street.

"The military in San Diego is an important part of the community," says Dr. Cristina Versari, president of SDUIS. "Many of them have skills that are transferrable to civilian life and SDUIS can help smooth the transition."

SDUIS programs for veterans include a personality test to establish baseline skills. All psychology programs are overseen by licensed psychologists. The free program from SDUIS develops an individual personality profile, a fundamental step for the veteran to set goals. Working with counselors at SDUIS veterans can formulate a sound action plan for their career which may include further education. SDUIS offers many VA funded programs and the school is a dynamic resource for San Diego's military community.

"The job market is tough all over," Dr. Versari continues. "In some small way the SDUIS program can give veterans a boost up as they get on with the business of their civilian life. It's the least we can do for those who have done so much for the rest of us."
