La Escuelita Bilingual School was established in Seattle in 1980. La Escuelita has two locations at this time. La Escuelita in the north end is located in the University District. It incorporates a birth to five year old early childhood program.
La Escuelita at Praxis was established in 2006 in the south end of Seattle. It is located in the Columbia City area and incorporates a toddler and pre-school program. La Escuelita at Praxis is a Step Ahead Pre-School Program funded through the City of Seattle's Early Learning Program.
La Escuelita's goal is to promote the development of each child's appreciation of themselves as individuals competent in all the learning domains (physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and creative). La Escuelita's teachers assist children to recognize the many ways children are the same and different from each other. La Escuelita incorporates the child's interest, cultural context and events that make up their lives in their daily activities in order to foster children's learning and critical thinking. La Escuelita assists children to develop the skills and attitudes needed to become successful in school. La Escuelita promotes the development of English and Spanish using a Dual Language Model and validates and assists children to develop respect and appreciation for all the languages and cultures represented in our programs.
