Sectra Outperforms PACS Market-Share Leaders

PACS Market Finding New Leaders as Providers Weigh Options

The larger, traditional PACS vendors continue to dominate mindshare, yet the high-performing, lesser-known PACS vendors probably deserve more serious consideration.

OREM, UT, March 04, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Despite better overall performance, Sectra and other vendors with smaller market share are still not being considered as often as the larger competitors in the PACS space. This comes at a time when, according to the latest KLAS report, as many as 22% of providers report that they are looking to switch PACS vendors.

The report goes on to say that in addition to Sectra's stand out performance, Fujifilm and McKesson have excelled in larger healthcare organizations. Meanwhile, providers report that GE and Siemens are most vulnerable to replacement.

"This is an interesting time in the PACS market. We are seeing smaller-market-share vendors outperform their larger competitors, yet they are rarely considered in replacement PACS opportunities," said report author, Matt Terry. "The larger, traditional PACS vendors continue to dominate mindshare, yet the high-performing, lesser-known PACS vendors probably deserve more serious consideration."

The report, which published earlier today, is titled "PACS 2015: Who Should Providers Look To for Long-Term Satisfaction." PACS vendors reviewed in the report include Agfa HealthCare, Avreo, Carestream, Cerner, DR Systems, Fujifilm, GE Healthcare, INFINITT, Intelerad, McKesson, Merge, Novarad, Philips, RadNet, Sectra and Siemens.
