/24-7PressRelease/ - LONDON, UK, June 29, 2008 - Zimo Communications was awarded Fixed Line Service Provider of the Year 2008 by The Federation of Communication Services, at its Annual General Meeting and Awards Ceremony. The annual award, sponsored by BT's Openreach, is chaired by a panel of industry judges looking for the company or product which has made the biggest contribution to promoting innovation or excellence in the area of fixed line telephony.
"We were runners-up when the award was first introduced in 2006, so we're absolutely delighted that two years of technical innovation and our commitment to the highest service levels have been recognised by the judges," says Zimo's CEO, Kieron James.
Zimo is perhaps best known for its Numberstore brand which offers a full range of business telephone numbers and services from 0800 freephone to premium rate. "Although Numberstore was developed with small to medium sized businesses in mind, its powerful call management and statistical reporting features have attracted customers from local and central government, the emergency services and a number of multinational companies," added James.
Since the company was established in 2005, Zimo has achieved spectacular growth in network minutes, staffing and turnover. "We have recruited some incredibly talented people over the last three years and this award is a tribute to their tremendous work in developing world-class products and delivering top quality service," said James adding, "everybody is truly thrilled!"
The chairman of the judging panel Sam Dawkins of Club Communications on announcing the winner at the FCS AGM said: "The judges were impressed with the diversity of the entries submitted which indicates the creativity that exists in the competitive fixed telecoms sector. Innovation is one of the key criteria the judges were looking for and the entry from Zimo demonstrated a level of innovative thinking that led the judges to a unanimous decision."
Amy Chalfen, Director of Equivalence, Regulatory and Public Affairs at Openreach said that Openreach was pleased to be associated with the FCS award which celebrates excellence within the service provider customer base of Openreach.
The next twelve months bring several new opportunities to the company, as Zimo rolls out advanced business telephony services, introduces major developments to its online call management interface and begins to target the burgeoning business Voice over IP (VoIP) market.
