He is noted as a Guinness World Records holder of participation for successfully developing a mobile application, entitled "Desipad," in a coding marathon.
Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Shivakumar has been involved in multiple large-scale and complex online transformation and digital technologies-based projects for the Fortune 500 clients of his organization. He has headed center of excellence practice and led many thought leadership initiatives and was instrumental in creating multiple Intellectual Property (IP) and solutions for his organization. Mr. Shivakumar has one granted US patent and has three patent applications. Some of his most recent patents are entitled "Calculating trust score on web based platform" and "Method and system for presenting personalized content."
Prior to pursuing a scientific career, Mr. Shivakumar received a Bachelor of Engineering in computer science and engineering, with distinction, from the JSS Academy of Technical Education in 2001. He went on to complete an executive program in business management through the Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta in 2012. He is currently a research scholar pursuing his PhD. Since the inception of his career, Mr. Shivakumar has become recognized as an Oracle Certified Master and Java EE 5 Enterprise Architect. In addition to being TOGAF 9 Certified, he has also received Harvard ManageMentor certifications in strategic thinking, time management, presentation skills, strategic execution, persuading others and business case development. Mr. Shivakumar has received numerous certifications through IBM, Oracle and Sun Microsystems, as well.
Since entering the field of information technology, Mr. Shivakumar has contributed numerous articles to professional journals, technical white papers and chapters to books. His most recent books include "Complete Guide to Digital Project Management", "Enterprise Content and Search Management for Building Digital Platforms," "A Complete Guide to Portals and User Experience Platforms," and "Architecting High Performing, Scalable and Available Enterprise Web Applications." All his books are published by highly reputed academic publishers such as Elsevier Science, CRC Press, IEEE Press/Wiley and Apress. Mr. Shivakumar has delivered presentations at numerous conferences, including the JavaOne Conference in 2013. In recognition of his contributions to the field of information technology, Mr. Shivakumar was recently honored as the recipient of the Expert Recognition Award, and Star of Infosys Bangalore DC Award in 2017.
