With more than 36 years of professional experience, Dr. Ketefian has been in her current position at the University of Michigan School of Nursing for 25 years. She conducts research on ethical issues related to nursing, teaches doctoral and post-doctoral students, represents the university at various events and maintains relationships with partnering institutions. Her research and writing mainly focuses on the application of ethical issues in healthcare and scientific integrity.

Dr. Ketefian is a co-founder and founding president of the International Network for Doctoral Education in Nursing and has served as the editor of Research and Theory for Nursing Practice. She takes pride in her contributions to the international nursing field and attributes her success to her hard work and the support she receives from her students and colleagues.

A registered nurse, Dr. Ketefian received her Doctor of Education from the Teachers College of Columbia University in 1972. A member of the Midwest Nursing Research Society, she served as chairwoman of its Scientific Integrity Committee and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing. She volunteers for various educational and professional organizations.
