VENICE, FL, November 28, 2009
/24-7PressRelease/ -- In a world of layoffs and high unemployment, it's remarkable to mark the long-standing careers at one place of employment. Sharky's on the Pier is able to do just that with a number of outstanding employees who have worked at the restaurant for as many as 19 years.
Sharky's on the Pier is a waterfront dining institution in Venice. Working at this beautiful oceanfront restaurant is a dedicate group of staffers, including the longest-serving employee, Angela Welch, a server for 19 years. Nancy Porter's employment at Sharky's is just one year shorter than Angela's; she began working at Sharky's 18 years ago.
Other employees include Mary Ellen Gaspich, Controller; Homero Gutierrez, Executive Chef; Julie Bruce, Server; Peter Curtis, Front of House Manager; and Marc Alton, Chef. These five have served Sharky's for 13 years. Ronny Ebanks, in Maintenance, has worked at Sharky's for 12 years, while Kathleen McIlhenny, Hostess, and Jennifer Spry, Front of House Manager, have been employed by Sharky's for 11 years.
Ten-year employees include Alberta Lefebvre, Office; Ronald Seeland, Bartender; and Pamela Estrada, Hostess.
"Sharky's has a real family atmosphere, and the employees really enjoy working here. I can't believe it's been 10 years since I started here, but I can't imagine working anywhere else," says Alberta Lefebvre.
The longevity of these employees speaks to the excellent management team, dedication to quality and a working environment that allows its staff to develop their skills and be a real part of making the restaurant a success. Co-owners Mike Pachota and Greg Novack are delighted to have this quality, long-term staff as employees. "It's an amazing thing when a restaurant has any employee for as long as 10, 13, 19 years. We're very proud of our staff and their commitment to Sharky's on the Pier; without them, we wouldn't have been successful all these years."
With its exclusive waterfront location, Sharky's on the Pier offers unparalleled views of the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the sandy, secluded beach. They have live, gulf-side entertainment five nights a week on their family-friendly outdoor deck. For a tropical atmosphere, delectable food and drinks, and participation in a worthy cause, Sharky's on the Pier is the place to go.
