/24-7PressRelease/ - Fort Worth, TX, August 9, 2008, Shirley Byrdsong Knox Benton, Chief Executive Officer and Consultant for Educational Solutions, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of counseling.

Ms. Benton has more than 45 years of professional experience. She excels in counseling students and offering technical assistance to public schools and organizations and, as CEO and consultant, is responsible for teaching, counseling, and assisting the administration department. She began her career as a teacher and worked subsequently as a counselor, assistant principal, principal and administrator at the junior college level, progressing eventually to her current position through self-motivation. In addition to her work for Education Solutions, Ms. Benton monitors and provides technical assistance for the State of Texas and also works as a consultant for No Child Left Behind.

While serving as the principal of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, Ms. Benton implemented the TAAS Test, which resulted in the school becoming a Gold Performance Campus and receiving $117,550 for its achievements. This feat helped earn for her the Texas High School Principal of the Year Award in 2001. She is also a recipient of the People to People Student Ambassador Award and the Reader's Digest American Hero in Education, and attributes her success to her customer service skills and love for her profession. She recently joined a group of educators and visited seven schools in Capetown and Johannesburg, South Africa.

Ms. Benton holds a Master of Science in Counseling/Guidance and Mid-management from Texas Woman's University and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Huston-Tillotson University. She completed her fellowship at Harvard University, and is currently affiliated with the National Association of Secondary School Principals, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and Phi Delta Kappa.
