/24-7PressRelease/ -- "With the rising recession, more and more companies are seeking human resource at a lesser cost. Additionally, the unemployment rate has been rising at an alarming rate, and thousands have been stranded jobless. ShortTask was launched to bring about a balance in the job market by connecting work providers with problem solvers," says A. Harrison Barnes, CEO and founder of ShortTask.
ShortTask is based on the idea that there are still many online jobs that cannot be fully replaced by technology and require human input. ShortTask has subdivided its working into two categories -- solvers and seekers. Seekers are companies or individuals who need various tasks accomplished without hiring in-house staff, while solvers are workers who can complete these jobs virtually and get paid.
The tasks on ShortTask include the following:
• Researching tasks -- These include researching articles, seeking information about products or services, finding important dates, researching about places and people, etc.
• Writing tasks -- These include writing articles, product or service descriptions, forums, blogs, transcriptions, translations, editing, proofreading, and rewriting assignments.
• Identifying tasks -- These include pointing out differences, tagging images, identifying objects in images, and other critical thinking tasks.
• Miscellaneous tasks -- Other tasks can be verifying information about a service, commenting on sites, participating in surveys, or answering a seeker's question.
To assign tasks, the seeker needs to add prepaid balance to his/her account. The seeker can then assign individual tasks, gain access to skilled workforce, and pay only when completely satisfied. After approving a task, ShortTask will charge 10% as commission fee from the seeker. Solvers, on the other hand, can select tasks of their choosing, finish those in the given period, and get compensated (in US dollars). They can also earn bonuses (at seeker's discretion) if the task is well done.
"In today's era of online business, we get our tasks completed with the help of a computer program. At ShortTask, it is exactly the opposite. The computer program creates the tasks which require human intelligence. It is an interesting service where solvers can earn money by completing various tasks which require the human touch," adds Barnes.
Currently, ShortTask is in Beta mode and lists more than 1,500 tasks, increasing at an extremely rapid pace. The average reward for each task is $5.00. For more information on ShortTask, please visit http://www.shorttask.com.
