NEW YORK, NY, October 14, 2008
/24-7PressRelease/ -- ShowBizCafe.com, the premiere Spanish-language film website in the US, announced today it will relaunch its multimedia site as the first bilingual, English and Spanish, movie website in the world wide web.
With an official 2007 launch, the primary objective of ShowBizCafe.com was to fill a void in the growing Hispanic digital landscape. "The idea has always been to give the 23 million US Hispanics online culturally relevant content on movies in their own language", says Jack Rico, founder and editor-in-chief of ShowBizCafe.com. "Part of the plan from the beginning was to establish our brand in the acculturated Latino market and then cater to the English dominant Hispanic who prefer their information in English, yet, still desiring their cultural news."
From an editorial perspective, the new English version of ShowBizCafe.com will balance Hollywood's blockbusters with international fare from Spain, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and Colombia in English. "Latinos love movies, they over-index in their attendance and frequency at movie theaters, but long for their foreign films", says Rico.
New additions to the relaunch of the website include a 'Spotlight' section which highlights specific films, actors or movie genres, a DVD section, a weekly 'Critic's Pick', interactivity with users via them posting their comments and opinions, and a 'TV network' called 'ShowBizCafe TV', which presents original, unique, video segments in both languages dedicated exclusively to the world of movies. "Our site is now easier to navigate with a richer user experience", says Rico.
Movies are a passion point for Hispanics, and ShowBizCafe.com celebrates that zeal for film holistically by being the voice and destination for any of those who share that fervor on the matters of cinema regardless of language or culture.
