/24-7PressRelease/ -- The Silicon Valley Campaign for Legal Services (SVCLS) is pleased to announce the launching of its new Web site (http://www.svcls.org). The SVCLS funds eight agencies in Silicon Valley that provide civil legal counsel, free-of-charge, to people who could not otherwise afford to pay.
"It is the mission of the SVCLS to give low-income people access to civil legal counsel. SVCLS provides funding to eight legal service providers who serve this segment of our community thus assuring that their valuable services can continue to be offered. The new Web site will strengthen the SVCLS' capabilities for fundraising, publicizing the accomplishments of our supported agencies and outreach to the population that depend on legal service providers for assistance in life-affecting circumstances," said Bill Abrams, SVCLS co-chair and a partner at Bingham LLP. "We would also like to acknowledge and thank the companies and individuals that assisted us in the development of the new Web site. Their guidance and countless hours of dedication were instrumental in the successful launch."
The companies assisting the in development of the new Web site included Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP and Silicon Valley Bank. In addition, Blattel Communications and The Recorder provided counsel regarding the Web site's design and launch.

The Silicon Valley Campaign for Legal Services (SVCLS) is an annual campaign program dedicated to raising funds to augment current contributions to Silicon Valley legal service agencies, which provide legal advantages to the area's disadvantaged residents. The umbrella fundraising effort strives to shelter funded agencies from financial instability due to stagnation or cutbacks from other sources. The funds supplement legal agencies that assist men, women and children of all ages, ethnicities and cultural backgrounds.
