Followed shortly behind was the earning of a Master of Social Work in 1972 from the University of Illinois, and a Master of Arts in Theology in 1975 from St. John's University. A certified social worker, she became the recipient of a Ph.D. in Theology in 1989 from The Catholic University of America.
