/24-7PressRelease/ - CULVER CITY, CA, May 23, 2008 - Projects created by design studio Sisu Inc. for Hearst Magazines Digital Media and Zannel have been recognized in two inaugural mobile categories at the 12th Annual Webby Awards.

Highlighting a banner year that saw mobile technology and content become increasingly smarter and more sophisticated, the Webbys introduced seven categories for this year's competition to recognize the burgeoning Mobile Web. Sisu's projects took home awards in two of the seven Webby Mobile categories: Hearst Magazines Digital Media's Cosmopolitan was the winner for the Mobile Entertainment category and Zannel took the prize for Mobile Social Networking. In addition to the two Webby Mobile wins, Sisu was also honored for their work on Sony.com, which was nominated for Best Visual Design/Function and named an official honoree for Best Navigation/Structure. No stranger to the Webby Awards, Sisu took home the Best Home Page Webby Award for Sony.com in last year's competition.
Sisu's work for Hearst Magazines Digital Media on Cosmo Mobile: 100 Hot Cities, Fake Calls, Dude Decoder & Cocktails! (http://m.cosmopolitan.com) was a part of a massive effort to design the mobile interfaces for Hearst's stable of 18 marquee magazines. The Cosmo Mobile site preserves Cosmo's brand integrity within WAP 1.0's limited capabilities while giving users fast access to WAP-appropriate, fun content and features.

The Best Mobile Social Networking site, Zannel (http://zannel.com), is the mobile industry's first Instant Media Messaging service allowing people to instantly update their friends and start real-time conversations by sharing multi-media updates from mobile phones. Sisu worked with Zannel to help guide all aspects of the product's branding and design including the user interface of web and mobile views.

Hailed as the "the Internet's highest honor" by the New York Times, The Webby Awards are the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet, including websites, interactive advertising, online film and video, and mobile Websites. The Webby Awards is presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a 550-person judging academy whose members include Internet co-inventor Vinton Cerf, R/GA's Chief Bob Greenberg, "Simpson's" creator Matt Groening, Arianna Huffington, and Harvey Weinstein.

The 12th Annual Webby Awards received a record 9,500 entries from over 60 countries and all 50 states. Winners will be honored at the 12th Annual Webby Awards Gala in New York on June 10th. Hosted by Saturday Night Live's Seth Meyers, the ceremony will showcase winners delivering the Webbys' famous five-word speeches.
