Mr. Labuschagne has ample experience with BHP Billiton
PERTH, AUSTRALIA, June 09, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jeremy Labuschagne, Area Manager of Projects for BHP Billiton, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in electrical management.
Mr. Labuschagne has ample experience with BHP Billiton, serving as the area manager of projects for this mining company for the past year. Skilled in project management, electrical projects, and automation, he serves as the portfolio manager for sustaining capital projects for non-process infrastructure projects, manages power and utility projects, and oversees project managers who report to him.
Mr. Labuschagne loves taking on projects and seeing the results of his work, and attributes his successful career to his passion for project management. When he was just starting out in his career, he had an electrical trade company and started his own contracting company. He became involved in mining in South Africa and remained in that field for 10 years. He then moved to New Zealand and worked there for six years as an electrical and automation manager for an engineering and robotics company. He was recruited by BHP Billiton six years ago.
Mr. Labuschagne was recently inducted into Worldwide Branding and maintains affiliations with the Project Management Institute. He is pursuing a project management professional certification, and gives back by donating his time and money to foundations such as Epilepsy Australia and Islands Hospice. When he is able to take time for himself, he enjoys fishing, running marathons, mountain biking. Looking ahead, Mr. Labuschagne plans to stay with BHP Billiton and advance within the company. He wants to become involved with the major projects division where the projects are worth more than $250 million.
