LONDON, ENGLAND, February 04, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- SkyDox, a leading provider of cloud-enabled file sharing, file synchronization, storage and collaboration tools, provided insight on the ways Generation Y is impacting social business and collaboration during the keynote address at the recent Information Age Social and Mobile Business Conference and Exhibition. The conference took place 31st January at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel in London.

Robert Fillmore, head of social business at SkyDox, delivered the keynote, showing attendees how Generation Y's innovative approach towards mobile social business and collaboration is impacting Information Communication Technology (ICT). He demonstrated the ways Gen Y uses mobile and social business for collaboration and how ICT professionals can take advantage of these trends to enhance the enterprise collaborative environment, while still maintaining control and adhering to data privacy, protection and transparency mandates. Approximately 200 people attended the popular keynote.

In addition, SkyDox was also a platinum sponsor of the conference. This new Information Age event examines the convergence of two of the overarching technology trends- social media and mobile technology - and how they impact businesses. The event explored how businesses can exploit social business technologies, both as a route to market and a collaboration platform for the enterprise. The conference also delved into the ways consumer mobile devices are becoming a critical component of corporate IT infrastructure -- and the pros and cons of the acceptance and provisioning of the Bring Your Own Devices (BYOD) trend.

As platinum sponsor, SkyDox also demonstrated its feature-rich platform at the event. SkyDox's platform goes beyond basic file sharing, file synchronization, storage and collaboration tools by enabling users to share, store, co-author and manage files and document-centric collaborations in the office, remotely and through mobile devices. The platform delivers range of social business tools, such as activity feeds, online meetings, presence indicators and dynamic email alerts to users.

SkyDox allows users to assign folder and document level access rights and permissions to prevent the downloading or passing on of confidential files to another party without authorization. The ability to track file access and viewing at a page level also allows users to determine if, and when, the document was opened, with whom it was shared, and which pages attracted the most interest. The platform allows users to store, share, collaborate and synchronize over 200 file types using any browser-enabled device.

Ali Moinuddin, CMO at SkyDox commented, "We continue to see demand for social business tools increase in the business environment as the 'digital native' now accounts for a significant proposition of the workforce. These individuals are forcing ICT professionals to reconsider their approach in creating secure, collaborative ICT infrastructures and are demanding that they be allowed to continue using the legacy applications they are familiar with. ICT has to deliver on this or digital natives will circumnavigate established policies and processes."
