LOS ANGELES, CA, February 12, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A skilled and inventive artist, Ron Taybi is a master craftsman, constantly pushing the boundaries of line, structure and the use of light in design. As founder of the Irvine-based modular railing systems architectural design firm, Rami Designs, Taybi's life as a fine artist and work as a contractor are equally fueled by a passion for visionary creativity and design innovation.
Moved by the thought of cultures and countries from all over the world peacefully coming together this February, Taybi felt compelled to celebrate the occasion with something beautiful and grand, that may move viewers to become inspired in their own lives, while spreading a message of peace. Taybi's result is now the 22 foot tall, 8,000 pound, stainless steel, self-lit ballerina, featuring an ever-changing color panel and majestic pose, entitled "Gracious -Beacon of Peace."
Constructed in the Rami Designs studio, the ballerina will remain in the U.S. for a limited time only, making appearances in Southren California, before Taybi accompanies the work on the way to its new home in Russia. In Sochi the donated piece is set to act as a beacon of hope, welcoming artists and dreamers from its mounted, roadside station leading up to the brand new Ballet Museum, located at Sochi's "Nadezhda" villa, opening to the public for the first time ever at the historic summer residence of famous, Russian ballet patron Sergei Khudeko.
"My highest aspiration is to have my art displayed across the world and perceived as educational and socially important," says Taybi.
"It's an honor to bring 'Gracious' to Sochi as a first step toward making that goal a reality. This piece represents a symbol of friendship and humanity between nations, as well as a token of appreciation to this city for hosting a glorious festivity for the world," continued Taybi. "It is a contribution to ultimate and permanent peace -the cherished desire of all mankind. "
A public unveiling of "Gracious" is set to take place at the Rami Design headquarters in Irvince, CA on Saturday, Feb. 22, prior to its journey to Russia. Along with "Gracious" the invite-only event, is also set to feature art and entertainment including live performances by local and Russian ballet companies, music and additional art from Taybi's last 20 years as an artists, available for both viewing and purchase on-site.
"Gracious" is also currently in consideration by the Guinness Book of World Records to be named the world's largest statue of a ballerina. Fans "Gracious," as well as Taybi's art and work are encouraged to show support and appreciation by "liking" the official Facebook page: "Pathway to Harmony: 2014 Olympics."
