SANTA CLARA, CA, May 14, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- SomaliA, star of the web series "Building Somalia", will be taking part in the first annual Santa Clara University Muslim Student Association and the Santa Clara University United Middle East clubs Benefit Slam.

Since the beginning of recorded history, there has been unrest in the Middle East. There will probably be more unrest for the foreseeable future. One thing has been for certain, the children are affected the most.

MORE THAN HALF of the Palestinians population is children under the age of 17, large numbers of children are forced to play an adult role and work to help their families survive. SomaliA, whom has lived in the horrific conditions of a refugee camp herself said, "Even though these children's suffering will continue as long as Israel and Palestine leaders war over the land, it is essential that in the meantime we provide to the best of our ability the conditions necessary for their healthy development, such as stability, security, recreation, and sound nutrition. What is needed instead is public awareness and organized efforts to protect them from the dangers that surround them."

SomaliA, represented by Adore Management, and recently signed to The Squad Music Group will be performing twice on May 15th and on May 17 with all proceeds will going to the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund.
This will be followed by the release of her inspirational debut single "Our Day Will Come" on May 19th, 2009.
