/24-7PressRelease/ -- The winners of the SongDoor 2008 International Songwriting Competition have been announced. Entries were received from 14 countries on four continents.
"The competition was full of great material this year and the judges were agonizing over their decisions," says SongDoor president Tony Zotta. "We were in awe of some of the songs we heard, songs that should be all over the radio. It's our job to try and create some openings for the great writers out there who can't catch a break." The winning songs may be heard online at http://www.songdoor.com. The competition was generously sponsored by SongU.com, Broadjam, Spring Hill Studio Productions, MasterWriter and Digital Rodeo.
"Its an overwhelming and unbelievable feeling to be announced as the winner of the SongDoor grand prize. I am grateful for the opportunity to compete with so many amazing songwriters that inspire me to work harder at my craft. I am truly humbled by this honor," says Anthony, a transplanted Australian who now lives in the Nashville, TN area. The coming year is set to be an exciting one for Anthony, as he will be showcasing at the biggest music industry event of its kind in the world, The SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX, March 18-22.
