FRISCO, TX, January 11, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Illinois Basin has been producing petroleum since the 1880's with the main commercial production occurring in 1906 from the Lawrence County and Crawford County, (Main Consolidated) oil fields about 50 miles north of this prospect, together having produced since 1906 approximately 800+ million barrels of oil. A new flurry of deeper drilling below 1,000 feet in the 1930's to depth of 3,000 feet brought about wide spread discoveries throughout the Illinois Basin, and south of Lawrence and Crawford County along the Wabash Fault System, wherein this prospect is located. Many new fields were developed from the early 1930's to date in every direction from the Maunie North Deep Prospect. The Illinois Basin has many oilfields that have accumulated production of 5-10 million barrels plus per field, with large oilfields producing 350+ million barrels, such as Lawrence County, Main Consolidated, Clay City, Salem, and Loudon. The Illinois Basin has produced approximately 4.3+/- billion barrels of oil since the turn of the century.

Sonoma Energy Capital, LLC. has hired Schofield Energy/Oil Company as its operator for exploration, production, and development in the Illinois basin. It is our goal to use both conventional as well as contrarian methods to find oil and gas in established oil and gas structures. Sonoma's operator, whose family has been in the business for over 100 years, uses methods include deepening old producing structures, geochemistry, and seismic, as well as subsurface geology from drilled wells with great success. One of the best exploration tools is to find old oil and gas structures, rework and deepen them.

Wells in the Illinois basin drilled from 3200' to 7000' have initial production rates of up to 4000 Barrels of Oil per Day. Sonoma Energy Capital believes it is the opportune time to find large geological structures and look for deeper oil in proven fields. Working with top industry experts in large producing areas is the strategy Sonoma Energy Capital will use in its developments throughout the US.

Sonoma Energy Capital, LLC. is an independent oil and gas developer currently involved in oil and gas plays in the Illinois basin. Sonoma is working with industry leaders in developing "Grade A" geological structures throughout the United States.
