DANA POINT, CA, August 23, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/
-- When consumers purchase a new vehicle that turns out to be defective, they are protected by the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, otherwise known as California's lemon law.
One Southern California law firm, Neale & Fhima, said that it frequently encounters Californians who have purchased a lemon and need legal help.
"It's really quite amazing that so many people find themselves in this unfortunate circumstance," said Aaron Fhima. "California has one of the strongest lemon laws in the nation. Manufacturers and car dealers know this, but far too many consumers still end up getting the short end of the stick on a vehicle purchase."
Fhima said that the demand for attorneys to handle lemon law claims is so great, he and his partner, Matt Neale, have expanded their legal services by launching a new website - California-LemonLawLawyer.com
- and hiring a new attorney, Lauren Griffin.
"We're proud to be able to strengthen our ability to represent more people in California," Fhima said. "There is clearly a need for these services, and the fact that we now have four locations speaks to the fact that consumers are rightly utilizing the lemon law when they've purchased a faulty vehicle."
The firm now has locations in Dana Point, San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Because of how these claims are handled, however, the firm said it can also represent clients who live outside of these areas, in any part of the state. Fhima said the attorneys can begin work on claims after corresponding with clients via phone and email.
Most states have lemon laws that offer consumers legal recourse after buying a defective vehicle. California's lemon law is widely regarded as one of the strongest in the nation. It offers clients reimbursement or repayment from manufacturers after a reasonable number of repair attempts have been made.
Fhima said that while consumers can file claims on their own, having an attorney to represent their claim can maximize their chances of getting adequate compensation.
"Manufacturers tend to set the terms of an agreement with the consumer, which is why it's so important to retain the services of an attorney to represent you," Fhima said. "A lemon law attorney makes sure their client gets the best deal possible."
