WASHINGTON, DC, October 24, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Over the last two years the Specialty Hospitals of America facilities - SHW-Capitol Hill, SHW-Hadley, Capitol Hill Nursing Center, Hadley Nursing Center - have received numerous awards and honors that have demonstrated the healthcare facilities' commitment to excellence.

President and Chief Operating Officer of SHA, Frank Wilich, recently stated, "We are extremely proud of the recognition we have received over the last couple of years. It is a direct result of the hard work put in by a very dedicated and professional staff. I could not be more pleased with our performance." He also said, "What is interesting to note is our awards and recognition cover a very broad spectrum of healthcare issues. For example, we have had individual staff members receive honors such as our Chief Nursing Officer being appointed President of the DC Organization of Nurse Executives, and one of our nurses being named Employee of the Year by the Healthcare Council of the National Capitol. Our Respiratory Care Department received a quality award and its Laboratory received accreditation. Our Pharmacy received a Clinical Site of the Year Award, and of course we passed the Annual License and Certification Quality Survey. We received awards for clinical programs such as Reductions of Acquired Pressure Ulcers, and Reduced Rates of Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infections, as well as Prevention of Healthcare Associated Infections. We were recognized as a Leader in the LGBT Equality Index, and are an active participant in the Healing Healthcare Partnership with the Joint Commission. And one of our very satisfying developments was the creation of our Coma Neuro Simulation Program. I think we do indeed have a lot to be proud of."
