/24-7PressRelease/ - AMMAN, JORDAN, March 24, 2007 - The Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship (QRCE) conducted a seminar on the fundamentals of corporate law in Jordan, entitled "ABCs of Jordanian Corporate Law."

As part of the second stage of the annual Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship Competition (QRNEC), the first business plan competition in Jordan, the seminar introduced to the attendees the process of company registration, types of companies, and benefits of each type, as well as the legal status of foreign companies in Jordan. The seminar was sponsored by the Jordan Telecom Group through the JTG Fundation, and was attended by entrepreneurs and inventors incubated at iPARK and the Jordan Innovation Centre at the Royal Scientific Society.

HE Dr. Al-Ababneh stated, "This is a wonderful opportunity to provide inspiration to the future entrepreneurs of Jordan, who will effectively take the country into the future."

As part of the Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT), QRCE is designed to be a leading center for growth both locally and regionally. Mr. Mohammad Khawaja, the project manager of Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship competition noted, "The Princess Sumaya University for Technology strives for innovation and to become leaders in entrepreneurship development. We look to become the MIT of the Middle East, and through the establishment of the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship, we are able to motivate a great resource for the future of the country - the Jordanian youth."

From its perspective, and realizing the success the competition has achieved in its first term, JTG has decided to support the Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship Competition for the second year in a row.

"We would like to extend our deep gratitude to the Jordan Telecom Group for their sponsorship in the competition for the second consecutive year," Mr. Khawaja added. We value their involvement and support, and we look forward to our future partnership in creating entrepreneurial opportunities within the Jordanian community."

In the second stage of the competition, the top ten teams have received advanced training courses in areas such as marketing, accounting, HR, business communication skills, business ethics, and legal training and IP awareness.

Aimed at encouraging innovation amongst university students in Jordan, the QRNEC was first initiated by HRH Princess Sumaya Bint El-Hasan at the Jordan ICT Forum of 2004. The competition was first named after HRH Princess Sumaya and was formerly known as the Princess Sumaya National Entrepreneurship Competition (PSNEC).

The QRNEC in its second year has seen a high participation rate of 92 student teams opted to take part in this event and to submit business proposals to the competition's judging committee reflecting projects they dream to achieve. During the third phase, Competing teams submit their business plans and deliver presentations before an international judging committee consisting of experts in the fields of business, entrepreneurship, and the creation of business plans.
