Stars gather to raise vital funds for the NSPCC

The evening of Thursday 24 May 2012 will see the hotly anticipated Pop Art Ball in aid of the NSPCC take place at Banqueting House, London.

LONDON, ENGLAND, June 17, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The evening of Thursday 24 May 2012 will see the hotly anticipated Pop Art Ball in aid of the NSPCC take place at Banqueting House, London.

Organised by an illustrious committee co-chaired by well-known art dealer Harry Blain, fashion designer Stella McCartney and Russian supermodel and philanthropist Natalia Vodianova, it is hoped that this star-studded event will raise GBP1 million for the NSPCC's Rebuilding Childhoods Appeal, created to help fund post-abuse therapy for children.

The Pop Art Ball, sponsored by UBS, follows on from the success of last year's Surrealist Ball which saw high-profile guests such as Tracey Emin and Lulu Guinness digging deep to raise vital funds for the NSPCC.

The committee members have convinced an array of world renowned contemporary artists to create and donate artwork for a live auction to be managed by Oliver Barker of the world famous auction house, Sotheby's. Artists including Jake and Dinos Chapman, Thomas Houseago and Rachel Howard have donated pieces to the auction, and guests will also have the opportunity to bid on a stunning Ultimate Couture Dress by Giambattista Valli. A silent auction will feature some incredible lots, including an intimate dinner with Mark Hix and Tracey Emin at The Tramshed, and five pairs of signed Christian Louboutin shoes taken from his limited edition 20th Anniversary Capsule Collection.

Long-term friends and fashion comrades, Agyness Deyn and Henry Holland, will co-present the evening, whilst The Ting Tings and Birdy will keep guests entertained. Other expected guests include Poppy Delevigne, Livia Firth, Christian Louboutin and Naomi Watts.

Caterer to the stars, Urban Caprice, will be delighting guests with a sophisticated, delicious and innovative menu which will even include a 'pop art' inspired starter. And to end the evening in sparkling style, the guests' goody bags will include a stunning bespoke bracelet, designed and made by Swarovski as a fitting memento of the event.

Supermodel and actress, Agyness Deyn, said: "I'm thrilled to be co-presenting the NSPCC's Pop Art Ball this year. It's an amazing cause, and the money raised from the night will help to fund some of the fantastic work the NSPCC does."

NSPCC Chief Executive, Andrew Flanagan, said: "The NSPCC Pop Art Ball is one of our most high-profile events and helps to raise vital funds to enable us to continue our therapeutic work with vulnerable children and young people. I'm sure it's going to be a wonderful night, and I hope that our generous guests will help us raise as much money as possible."
