In speaking to several reporters recently the question arose as to the bands motivation to make that pledge.
In this brief statement, the lead singer of "Almighty Love Noise" Swan explains his reasoning for his band's commitment to this cause.
"We want to address our reasons, beyond the obvious, why we have committed Almighty Love Noise to taking action and pledging our services to aid the great organizations that are doing so much to help the victims of the tsunami in Southeast Asia.
My motivation is very personal, On September 11, 2001 several members of my immediate family were working in New York City at the American Stock Exchange when the World Trade Center was attacked. It was a trying time for my family as it took several hours before we received word on their whereabouts. Fortunately for us they were all safe, but they did lose several friends and co-workers that weren't as fortunate, so the events of that day still live with our family as they do with most of America.
A few months later on November 12, 2001 an American Airlines Airbus A-300 crashed into a residential area in Belle Harbor, NY and killed over 265 people. Again my family escaped tragedy as my mother, sister and her family were not home at the time the plane came crashing down on their house.
When these tragedies occurred I didn't have the resources or mindset to do anything to help. However, I did make a promise to myself, that if I ever had the opportunity to make a difference in the face of tragedy that I would do so. As I mentioned on Fox News Live last week, If I were a bridge builder I would go there and build bridges, but I'm not , I write music and I perform. If I can help the victims of the tsunami disaster through my music then I have a responsibility to do so. This is the reason why we have committed ourselves to this cause.
