Staxxon Salutes SeaBox at Grand Opening Exposition for New Global Container Manufacturing and Test Facility

Staxxon partners with SeaBox to build innovative ISO steel shipping containers using Staxxon's patented folding/nesting technology. SeaBox opens new state-of-the art container manufacturing and test facility.

MONTCLAIR, NJ, July 22, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Staxxon, LLC, the developer of innovative logistics technology for empty ISO steel containers that reduces back-haul moves and related operating costs, is a participating exhibitor in the SeaBox, Inc. grand opening exposition being held Friday, 22 July, 2011. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is scheduled to speak at the grand opening exposition.

SeaBox, Inc., the leading supplier of military and specially designed containers, purchased and renovated the 378,000-square-foot facility located on 51 acres in East Riverton, New Jersey. The building has over 330,000 square feet of manufacturing space, 18,000 square feet of warehousing, and 30,000 square feet of office space and also offers a rail spur for additional logistical capability.

Extensive use of solar panels by SeaBox at the new facility will dramatically reduce electrical grid power demand during manufacturing and testing and reduce the carbon footprint associated with each new Staxxon container.

Staxxon selected SeaBox to build the first set of 20' standard dry containers based on the patented Staxxon Folding/Nesting Technology that allows up to five (5) empty ISO steel containers to be moved, stored and stowed in the same space as one (1) container. The containers produced by SeaBox will be used by Staxxon to obtain a Convention for Safe Containers ("CSC") certification as well as for additional field tests and non-commercial sea trials.

"Collaborating with the SeaBox engineering, CAD and manufacturing teams and CEO Jim Brennan has been exciting and productive," said Staxxon Founder/CEO George Kochanowski. "Using state-of-the art computer assisted design products like SolidWorks has enabled Staxxon and SeaBox to move from prototypes to production in a short period of time."

Staxxon also announced that its second patent application to the US Patent and Trademark Office had been approved. The first Staxxon patent application was issued by the USPTO in April 2010. Earlier in 2010, Staxxon announced that it had closed a $1M seed-funding round that would be used to build containers for CSC certification, field-testing and non-commercial field trials.
