Raised in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, working on a farm as a kid, cutting his musical teeth behind chicken wire and whiskey glasses, Stephen Foster has been Tied Up In The Blues for most of his life. In the Summer of '69, 19 years old, he went to California to seek music and gigs. Came back home that Fall and went to work playing in Percy Sledge's demo section. Wrote for Lynyrd Skynyrd, started playing in rock bands, endured the studio system, signed to labels, finally went Indie in '79 and released the classic hit "For The Love of A Girl", a CashBox "Pick-Of-The-Week" single.

Since then, he has recorded and written Blues and Southern songs, and played in every kind of roadhouse, concert stage and bar imaginable, from California to Michigan to SW Florida.

In '86 he cut his left hand off, had it reattached and now plays keys and guitars again. He speaks to young people and disabled persons on the "Power Of Perseverance", drawing from his life experiences and numerous disabling accidents he has overcome.

"Tied Up In The Blues" is the first song Stephen has played lead guitar on since the hand surgery. Over the last 10 years, Stephen has released 6 albums and has garnered over 600,000 downloads of his songs. The '07 album "Howl At The Blues" hit the Americana Chart Top-40 list and stayed on the charts for 10 months. Hits from that album included "Mad As Hell", "Mama's Goin Dancin' (When The Train Comes Home)", and "Cathead Blues".

Now signed to MusikAndFilm Records, he's releasing new songs, new recordings of old songs, and classic tracks from his catalog. More Stephen Foster & Howler music is st http://www.howler.biz
